Make an IMPACT by sponsoring a local teacher or school today.

1) Who can participate?
  Qualified primary and secondary teachers

2) How many volunteer teachers are at each site?
At least two. If possible, we aim to place you in the country with a teacher of the same gender.

3) Where will this term's training program be based?
This term teachers will be working in several primary schools outside of Kampala, Uganda.

4) How much experience is required?
We require all of our teachers to have at least 6 months of teaching experience prior to volunteering. It is also helpful if you have had some experience living, working or traveling in Africa or other developing regions of the world.

5) Where are the volunteer teachers from?
Our teachers come primarily from the UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Africa. Other nationalities are welcome though!

6) How much does it cost?

Impact Charities will be taking care of your housing, meal and charity-related transportation costs once you are in Uganda. You will be responsible for your airline tickets, travel insurance, vaccinations, lodging in London (if required for the pre-departure session), passport/visa and any personal costs while in Uganda. Your costs will depend on where you are flying from, but you will be required to be in London for at least 1 day for the pre-orientation.

Below will give you an idea of the typical costs:
Visa fee: £25
Flight to Kampala from London: £470 - £550
Travel Insurance: approximately £100
Vaccinations: vary (many are free through NHS)
Personal costs: vary upon personal preference

7) Will Impact Charities help with any of the logistics?
Impact Charities will provide you with everything you need to know about obtaining your visa, vaccinations, flights and travel insurance. We will also conduct a pre-session orientation in London to prepare you for your trip. We will arrange for you to be picked up from the airport in Uganda where our on-site staff is waiting for you. They will take you to your housing and help you get settled in.
